Ukraine can become major non-NATO ally in 2014 - minister | Russia Beyond The Headlines

""Given the conditions our country is currently in, we have a prospect of obtaining the status of a U.S. ally fairly quickly. I think this will happen as early as this year," the minister said at an event held on the occasion of Notaries' Day on Tuesday. The MNNA status will enable Ukraine to significantly broaden its military-technical cooperation and obtain a mechanism for buying necessary weapons, Petrenko said.
