I love China!
The year 2008 is the year that China can open itself to the world and show us all good manners. Unfortunately, many people have displayed very bad manners to China and the Chinese people. I would apologize for them in the hope that the Chinese people can see that we are very happy for them, and for the many amazing things they have accomplished over the past few decades. Cheers for China!
We do China a big disservice by interrupting the passage of the Olympic flame from community to community. That is not now a way to build understanding between China and the rest of the world. Put down your protest cards, and you will see that China can be magnanimous in its strength of character and joy at putting forward the Olympic ideal.
Here, we love China and congratulate it for all the wonderful things that it has accomplished.
The Olympics stands for peace and good will. We should all support this ideal and avoid displays of a political nature at this time. There is no country on the globe that does not have a territorial dispute, and to focus on that instead of the Olympic ideal is petty and in most cases hypocritical both of individuals, of communities and countries.
So let us say hurrah to China and to the Chinese people for putting up as well as they have with the bad manners of people who would promote conflict and would try to do so at a time of reconciliation and knowledgeable understanding. Saying angry things to China about Tibet at this time is not very smart, nor very likely to be helpful!
We love you China, and wish you well. Would that we were as blameless as you historically!

Sketches from scratches is a provocative blogspot that has grown out of the Wuh Lax experience. It is eclectic, which means that it might consider just about anything from the simple to the extremely difficult. A scratch can be something that is troubling me or a short line on paper. From a scratch comes a verbal sketch or image sketch of the issue or subject. Other sites have other stuff that should really be of interest to the broad reader. I try to develop themes, but variety often comes before depth.
