The point is! If Syria is willing to do such damage to its own people, imagine what it would do to Israel if given the opportunity.
The idea that Syria's problems are sourced from outside the country is nonsense! We do, however, observe how awful it presently is to belong to or be near Syria!

Germany is rightly miffed at US inabilities in understanding it's own weaknesses! Lack of real growth in US is symptom of dollar not working....
What we all have are wasted years because US economics courses are largely flawed. It doesn't take very much to see ways to mitigate the negative effects of US economy which arise because of financial liberalisation, especially towards letting banks lend money they can't fund. The mismatch is there for all to see like a cow's ass!
