More Exercise But Not Always Alone

Recently, my fitness instructor, directed me to the idea of a personal trainer. The idea was that even though I thought that I was getting enough exercise, she actually knew better. At first, the idea of a personal trainer seemed somewhat over the top, but I have definitely changed my mind. If you don't already have one, get a personal trainer, you may find that do this helps you more than having a family doctor, and it is much less expensive.

Training and being trained means that you are preemptive in your strike against the greatest source of ill health, namely lack of consistent and appropriate exercise. Ever wonder how the Japanese pulled off the their industrial revolution in the 1960s and 1970s. Sure they improved on everything they saw, but more importantly, they improved on the way they saw exercise to improve individual health as an asset to the firm, the country and above all to the individual.

The first thing that your presonal trainer will look at is your posture and distribution of fat. Probably, you can't carry all that weight without ruining your posture. Either stengthen your muscles to carry the weight you do, or lose the weight. Believe me it is much easier to lose the weight. Begin by half sizing your meals if you have not already done so. Refer to my blog on this susbject: http://woohs.blogspot.com/2007/11/half-size-mine-please-i-am-trying-to.html

Your trainer will help you work up your muscles to the point where you move more easily and you have greater flexibility. Hopefully, you will be losing weight as you exercise. Don't try to everything at once. A gradual approach gives you time to adjust to the process of creating a healthier and stronger new you.

Half Size Mine Please I am Trying to Live Longer

Ever think why so many people don't seem to be able to lose excess weight no matter how hard they try. Part of the reason is that busy as usual at mealtimes means eating off a big plate. Almost from birth we are conditioned to the idea and practice of three meals a day with occasional snacks in between, tea in the morning, tea in the afternoon and then tea again in the evening.

If your spouse insists on overfeeding you, it is time to educate your spouse to your goal of creating a new self, a lighter and more flexible self. This will start a family civil war, but if you win you will begin to get your eating habits into sanity. Perhaps, you will save your life and the lives of those you love. You will also help the globe in its goals of sustainability. Remember that its not a sign of prosperity to eat to excess, but of crass stupidity and bad habit persistence.

To achieve lower weight and eating sanity you will need smaller plates, a good fridge, storage containers for food in your fridge, much discipline and control over your food.

How in any one's dreams could a human being expect not to have excess fat eating so many times during the day, for one thing, but eating so many big meals. Yes, big meals! Tea in the morning means another meal before lunch? Tea in the afternoon means another meal before supper, tea in the evening means another snack before sleeping. Oh dear! Oh dear! Is anyone surprised that with so many biggish meals, we almost all are on the way to ill health?

Sanity begins with smaller plates of a width of no greater than four inches. These actually have to be bought and the larger plates put on the top shelf away from causing damage. Smash them up, if you have the fortitude. Then, reduce the size of your side plate to about two inches. Buy a small plate with a side rim. These smaller plates are your tea plates and the slightly larger plates are for your big meals.

To have any effect, you need next to limit your meal size to the smaller plate sizes and don't pile. Large glasses filled with more watery drink are next. The worst thing to do is to thicken out your drink and meal, but making it too nutritious. Your body doesn't really need helpings of nutrition.

When you go to the food shop or the restaurant remember that they are trying to maximize profit which means that they will sell you everything, and I mean everything, in large quantities. Try buying a single sized portion of anything and you will see what I mean. It is even worse for you trying to lose weight because you are searching for a single half size portion. I think that you cannot find them, anywhere. Even if you get your food organic or raw, you will have the same issue. The only thing that you can get in small portions may be strawberries or blueberries!

The problem that you will have is that the world is against you in trying to downsize your meals. You have to be very determined or you better resign yourself to death by overeating, which is what almost anyone ends up with. They call it heart attack, thrombosis, hardening of the arteries, cancer, obesity, diabetes, but it remains that the problem is not starvation! Think about it!

I am not saying that one needs to forget about eating, which is one of the greatest pleasures of the prosperous individual and reflects the success of the family unit. What I am saying is these days almost that all things bad about eating can be emeliorated by having less. My body tells me this as I am sure yours will. So good luck. Half size mine, I am trying to live longer.

Sketches from scratches is a provocative blogspot that has grown out of the Wuh Lax experience. It is eclectic, which means that it might consider just about anything from the simple to the extremely difficult. A scratch can be something that is troubling me or a short line on paper. From a scratch comes a verbal sketch or image sketch of the issue or subject. Other sites have other stuff that should really be of interest to the broad reader. I try to develop themes, but variety often comes before depth. ... more!
