Further to your comment about time travel. The paradox is that to go backward in time you actually need to accelerate forward in time because of the circularity of space-time! If you use light plasma thruster technology you will create your own wormhole to travel anywhere in space time ... forward and more forward into the past!

Scratching the fabric of the cosmos as the universe expands faster than the speed of light! ... What happens to time and space? Does it curve around and repeat, or what?

In my view, time and space are curved around as a torus in a material sense which allows for and infinite outcomes of matter and time sequence allowing Einstein's special relativity approach to be validated in innumerable ways!  

This is the physics needed for the assumption behind the philosophy of the Sufi and the Stoics, the fifth way, Gurdieff / Ouspenski..... and others! 

To Ouspenski, the Birdlip group, Priestly and the Bloomsbury groups ... conscious time travel from death to birth is instantaneous upon death because of the repetitious circularity of space-time.
