The Strench of Crony Capitalism Across the Street from Where I Live in Grand Bend
It is four o'clock in the morning and I should be sound asleep. Instead, I have awoken to a full fledged nightmare, the reality of which dwarfs my happy memories of the Hollywood production with James Stewart and Donna Reed of It's a Wonderful Life. No it isn't. It's a world in which corruption succeeds because it is sponsored by a federal Canadian government gone wild, breaking all the rules of human decency and humanity. Overruling thevwisdom of the local community, the feds can't even see the permanent damage they do to once happy communities. The feds are deeply steeped on crony capitalism, and "blast their eyes."

It's the stuff of movies and yet here I am in the middle of it. Why me? Why is this nightmare all around me?
To understand my predicament, imagine a world of cooperation and decency in which good wins over evil and we have a happy Christmas like story of people in a happy world with a community thriving and kids developing into happy citizens inspired by the beauty and moral coherence of what they experience in life and in the wonderful Christian like support systems around them. This is the story where James Stewart opens a community bank and manages it as a cooperative and the people are free of corruption. The horrible descent into the hell holes of capitalistic greed do not occur because of the community saving and banking instrument that James Stewart manages, becomes, personifies. It is a decent picture of capitalism in which development progresses in the directions it is supposed to. A visitation by an angel of mercy champions the actual forces of good over evil. And, the wicked town tycoon has no room to enslave the town people into a world of misery and dependence. The movie shows a willing public that there are community choices.
How does this go down in real life? Well, the community exists, but the people make the wrong choices and death and destruction follow, not the ahppy Hollywood movie ending. Our reality is one of deep corruption seeping into the very guts of a community and spoiling futures in more ways than I can count. It's the harsh cruel nasty side of capitalism in Canada and it is sponsored by a federal government gine wild through it's agencies such as Industry Canada. It's not a pretty picture. It's a war zone of future misery for kids that will get cancer and parents that will wonder what they did wrong.
If you go down the wrong path of economic development you end up in hell with corruption and a miserable all around you in which the distribution of power and income is skewed in favour of the few, or foreignors, and the majority of citizens have no scope for participation, are eternally in debt and beholden to the wicked paymasters of the ugly side of capitalism. You don't know you are in hell! Not only is the economics of the community disfunctional, the community cannot support the many systems that are needed to make it happy and thriving. Taxes are excessive and people miserable. Children want to leave for a better life and no one remains to develop the small community. It's not possible to be honest and say that such a world is desirable for the community at large. One should be and needs to be enraged at the likely outcomes across Canada of crony capitalism and corruption.

Yes! Crony capitalism is now the Canadian way it would seem.
However, what if no one cares and can't see that living hell is actually wrong, that kids should have playgrounds and get out of doors to play and have fun. The obvious sign of a healthy community is a playground full of safe happy children in a park with mothers smiling and cheerful, kids running, jumping, climbing, skipping and joyful. That is the model of an aspect of suceess of a community. That's why our soldiers faught and died in the great and lessor wars. That's the ideal that we strive for. We want that park, the happy mothers, the playful kids, the tiny animals burying nuts and chipmunks laughing from tall trees. We want the canopy of support systems that grow and develop a community, make it spontaneous, humourous and cheerful.
So where's the nightmare that I was woken up by. I call it crony capitalism, a world in which greed and selfishness reigns, a world that is disfunctional at the community level. Where do I see it happening? Surprisingly, enough its happening right across the street from where I live in Grand Bend, Ontario. Yes! Would you believe that corruption and cronyism have hit Grand Bend in full force destroying the community. Well, it has and it's giving me this nightmare. It's why at four o'clock in the morning, I can't sleep. James Stewart is in my brain telling me that the direction my community is heading is really bad and very wrong. It tells me that corruption is happening and corruption is wrong and destructive.
So what happens is the transfer of local power to a mysterious god like creation called the federal government of Canada which has a highly corrupting agency called Industry Canada.
Read for yourself in a letter to my neighbour from Bell, the phone people, the big industry nightmare creators, the crony bank in my community. Bell get's its money through extraordinarily cheap loans from a corrupt system of banking finance. It uses these loans to destroy communities at the grass roots. Instead of kids in parks we have kids in basements on 4g devices getting cancer with a lag. No joy in the park, just quiet addicted kids and parents who don't have a hope in hell of achieving a healthy life style. Instead of joyful sport we get couch potatoes.
Read and learn what is happening. The site is a kiddies park across the street to become an industrial site in a residential community all because government corruption from Ottawa Canada and Bell reaches into Grand Bend to destroy a community using tax payers money, yet blind to its own destructive force both in the long a short term.

The exponential growth in demand for wireless broadband services requires Bell to continually upgrade our network to meet coverage and capacity requirements. The site in question is one of many that Bell has installed to meet demand in this area. With this site, Bell is confident that residents and businesses, as well as community, public and safety services, will be better served.
The federal government has exclusive jurisdiction over radio communications and telecommunications. In the case of wireless communications, Industry Canada governs how wireless carriers consult with land use authorities with regard to antenna systems (Client Policy Circular CPC-2-0-03).
This policy identifies a number of circumstances under which carriers are excluded from any requirement to consult with land use authorities, including for modification of an existing antenna system if it does not result in an overall height increase of 25% above the existing structure’s original height. These exclusions are specifically intended to encourage the identification and maximization of low-impact sites already in use, such as the existing structure at the Lakeview Avenue site. As the replacement of the existing 45 metre guyed tower with a 56 metre self-supporting tower is fully compliant with Industry Canada’s exclusion criteria under its tower siting policy, Bell intends to proceed with replacing the tower at Lakeview Avenue.
With respect to your concerns regarding health issues, Health Canada’s Safety Code 6 sets the exposure standard for all mobile phones, base stations, Wi-Fi and other radio communications emitting infrastructure in Canada. Industry Canada has made compliance with Safety Code 6 a condition of licence for all Canadian wireless carriers. As such, Bell Mobility will ensure that the Lakeview Avenue site will be fully compliant with the requirements of Safety Code 6. Indeed, as required by Industry Canada, calculations carried out prior to the site being constructed show emissions from this site to be 100 times less than the allowable limit in Safety Code 6.
As a responsible Canadian company, Bell will meet or exceed all Industry Canada and Health Canada requirements for this site. Given the above, Bell intends to proceed with its plans at the site.
