Pakistani writer participating in American Political Discussion and Reporting

It is the worst of times and the best of times.

I wondered why the following article did not make sense in English, but then perhaps a look at the author helps to explain. Is this an outsourcing of American news process. If so it might give better balance but be less intelligible.
