MP video from today on CTV and Global news - Wireless Labeling Bill Introduced to Canada's federal House Of Commons

Today, there was a press conference in Ottawa about Canadian federal Member of Parliament Terence Young's Private Member's Bill C-648, which was first read in Canadian parliament in December 2014. This is regarding radiation exposures from all wireless devices (not only radiation from cellphones) -- there are links below to two, different, 2-minute GlobalTV News videos of MP Young clearly stating scope and explanation. The title of Bill C-648 is: "An Act respecting the prevention of potential health risks from radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation."

[fyi, in one of the news videos (below), MP Young mentions wireless in schools]

There are two different, great, 2-minute videos of MP Young speaking at today's press conference, posted by GlobalTV News:

Conservative MP calls for greater warning labels on cell phones
Conservative MP Terence Young says he has multi-party support for his Private Member's Bill to place safety warnings on Cell phones and Wifi routers sold in Canada.

MP says Canadians unaware of health risks posed by cell phones
Conservative MP Terence Young says Canadians are not fully aware of what he says are serious health concerns resulting from cell phone and wireless router use, especially to children. Young's Private Member's Bill will seek to place safety warnings on Cell phones and Wifi routers sold in Canada
And there is a great 6-minute video which includes both MP Young and Mr. Clegg (former President of Microsoft Canada)

Please refer to http://www.c4st.org/PMB for more details about the Press Conference, and Bill C-648, and featured reference materials. I think the full press conference might be posted there later this week, so you may wish to bookmark that page to watch that and any updates as they become available.

Cell Phone Labeling Bill Introduced to House Of Commons
Bill C-648 - An Act Respecting the Prevention of Potential Health Risks From Radio frequency Electromagnetic Radiation

Good morning,

Today in Ottawa Oakville Member of Parliament Terence Young will announce multi-party support for his Private Member's Bill C-648 requiring manufacturers of all wireless devices to place health warnings labels on their packaging.

SEE OUR PRESS RELEASE HERE

Terence Young is known for championing a new Law enacted in 2014 requiring pharmaceutical companies to better label serious side effects from their pills. The law, known as Vanessa's Law, was passed after Young's teenage daughter Vanessa died of a heart attack from a medication she was taking. On the heels of that improvement in safety warnings on pharmaceuticals, Young has now shifted his focus to warning labels on cell phones and other wireless devices as they are determined to be a possible carcinogen by the World Health Organization (2011 Class 2b) the same category as lead and DDT."

"This is not a partisan Bill, it is one that affects every party," said Young. "Members across Canada are hearing from our constituents that they don't want our amazing twenty first century communications to cause a twenty first century health crisis. It's time to label the packages with the same warnings the manufacturers already put in fine print."

WATCH MP YOUNG READ BILL C-648 INTO THE HOUSE OF COMMONS

We anticipate having today's press conference footage available to view mid week. For now please share and discuss this important Bill within your circles.

Thank you as always for your continued support and actions,

Sincerely,
Frank Clegg

Sketches from scratches is a provocative blogspot that has grown out of the Wuh Lax experience. It is eclectic, which means that it might consider just about anything from the simple to the extremely difficult. A scratch can be something that is troubling me or a short line on paper. From a scratch comes a verbal sketch or image sketch of the issue or subject. Other sites have other stuff that should really be of interest to the broad reader. I try to develop themes, but variety often comes before depth. ... more!
