Such as verdict will lead to people arguing against the United States having any enemies. Why does the country choose to have wars and enemies. What in American behaviour leads to it having enemies?

A lot of soul searching will have to go into any charge sticking because it could lead to the strongest of anti-war arguments. 

It could open the way for Bush and other presidents to be prosecuted for war crimes, misleading the public, criminal activities associated with killings of US citizens and citizens of other nations. 

If the secrets the US is keeping hidden are crimes, then those revealed as having committed crimes in leaked documents should be prosecuted.

Transparency is important even in war!

The experience of Buchenwald should tell us that countries that keep secrets of torture etc are committing war crimes.
