People ask me about the EMF dangers from my using an iPad!
After my discussions with radiation specialists at Cambridge University in the UK last autumn, I am very concerned about my personal use of wireless devices such as my iPad. The science since Dr. Frey's studies in the 1970's is very young and so far not comforting at all.
There are several wireless radiation concerns. The most serious is the steady beacon radiation coming from an antenna that is telling a receiving antenna on your device that it wishes to engage.
One has no control over the beacon, except as it is WIFI in one's home. For that you should unplug your WIFI every evening and when you do not wish to use it. Intermittent radiation is what we are being forced to live with.
On one's iPad, you need to turn on airplane mode which is almost the equivalent of switching off your iPad as far as the transmitting beacon (elsewhere) is concerned. You can turn your iPad or iPhone into a beacon by tethering, which lets other WIFI enabled devices know your iPad will talk to it. Alternatively, the iPad comes equipped with a blueray antenna that communicates to a camera, printer, another iPad or iPhone, or keyboard ... It's easy to turn off your own devices. In addition, you have satellites that your device can lock onto, which send their beacon radiation. Such radiation you cannot escape except by being within a sheltered area. It is now accepted that low level radiation can alter DNA (molecular structure) which is believed to happen through minute alterations in magnetic fields.
You will also be aware that the earth is a giant magnet and all creatures are affected by the earth magnetic field. Because it has been in existence for at least 4.6 billion years, we assume that it plays an important role at the smallest levels and is used by cells of life.
In addition, we are constantly bombarded by radiation from other stars in the Milky Way and other galaxies. Such rays have been proven to shape and cause patterns in lightning and may be occasionally responsible for location of rain, tornadoes, tall clouds and violent storms. Some electromagnetic fields affecting lightning within violent storms stretch fifty or more miles high into the higher elevation sphere. In addition the sun cyclically emits electromagnetic fields and rays that can weaken the EM shield of the earth against strong damaging cosmic rays from elsewhere in the billions of galaxies surrounding our own.
It is thought by many scientists that genetic mutations have arisen because of such radiation ... so much for the stagnant theories of evolution. Life on earth may have evolved / diversified because of alterations in electro magnetic fields produced by swings in strength of cosmic rays as the earth's electromagnetic field altered due to sun spot variations?
In short, my iPad, I can switch off or put away, but this will not protect me from the ambient radiation coming from beacon antenna activity. I liken EMF radiation so produced to second hand smoke. You may die from it , but there's not much you can do about it.
Nevertheless, the main issue and danger is EMF beacons, not the chatter of iPhones and iPads! Minimise your exposure to WIFI and to cell towers.... not possible! You are cooking...
Swisscom was to have been working on safe WIFI for the home. I am not sure how this would work.
We need small wired iPads and iPhones that really shield us from the beacons we have control over. I am sure they will appear as a choice from Apple, Google and Samsung or whichever! In many ways we are a recipient of technology, neither it's designer nor controller. However, my telling you of my concerns is like a catalyst because I know you will not keep quiet about this concern we share!
All it would take initially is a very simple device that works through the electricity system in your home which provides you with Internet and data sharing capabilities. When you plug in you would be connected to the Internet. Such a system would work in schools etc.
As for emergency communication, these might be better channel through satellite communication devices for police, fire, ambulance etc.
