PLEASE READ!

Your assistance is urgently needed in a serious matter that could literally impact the very health and well being of many thousands of children (and teachers) attending schools in Victoria, BC.

We have just been made aware the Victoria School Board's Wi-Fi Committee, after a two year hiatus, will finally make a decision re Wi-Fi in all its elementary schools on Oct 17th; all middle and high schools are already equipped with commercial Wi-Fi networks. Most parents are uninformed re the safety concerns of Wi-Fi (microwave) technology and are unaware the WHO and other health experts advise 'prudent avoidance' wherever possible for children due to their innate vulnerabilities. Even though much more has been discovered in the last two years re wireless radiation and impacts to health, the Wi-Fi Committee Chair has stated no further discussion or presentations from the public will be accepted. However, written submissions and documents may be sent to the Committee by Oct 9th for members to review before their decision. The School District's website clearly states health decisions will largely be directed by two health officials: the Provincial Health Officer and the Chief Medical Officer for Vancouver Island. The problem is that both these medical professionals are not EMF experts, and therefore, are unqualified to make decisions re the safety of Wi-Fi and children's chronic exposure to microwave radiation. To date these two doctors continue to affirm Wi-Fi is safe for children and that sensitivity/intolerance to this radiation is unproven.

As a mother and nurse, I am very well aware that my child's headaches and racing heart correlates distinctly with his prolonged exposure to Wi-Fi devices. I know this to be true without doubt. It is so real, our son is now being home schooled rather than force him to suffer ill symptoms. Our appeal for one middle school free of Wi-Fi to accommodate him has been denied. Wi-Fi must be stopped for elementary schools at the very least or more young children will suffer and many, many more will be harmed.

There is only a short amount of time left, however, the outcome will have long lasting repercussions that will either support good health or take it away.

We need your help:

1) Make submissions re the dangers of Wi-Fi (microwave radiation) to the Board of Education by Oct 9th

2) Please attend on Oct 17th in front of the School District Building (details below)

School Trustees are charged with the protection of our students; we must show Wi-Fi, an unproven technology, is NOT supported by many parents and concerned citizens. The safer solution: keep computers hard wired! The 'Precautionary Principle' must be implemented to protect vulnerable children from harm until all safety questions are fully answered by independent sources.

Your support for children and their right to good health is so appreciated. Hope to see you all there.

Most sincerely,
Tammy Tammy Jeske

Sketches from scratches is a provocative blogspot that has grown out of the Wuh Lax experience. It is eclectic, which means that it might consider just about anything from the simple to the extremely difficult. A scratch can be something that is troubling me or a short line on paper. From a scratch comes a verbal sketch or image sketch of the issue or subject. Other sites have other stuff that should really be of interest to the broad reader. I try to develop themes, but variety often comes before depth. ... more!
