Clean energy at risk from oil price slump
In the absence of a hike in common sense taxes, the fossil fuel oversupply will damage everyone .... short term gains are just that ... very short term. What a mess .... !

You know what's really stunning about this? Neither of these guys became famous for dancing. Hope was, for a time, America's Comedian. And James Cagney was a great actor, one of the biggest movie stars of his era. But watching this clip, it's easy to believe that they both could have been just as big as song-and-dance men.

Message from Melissa on Dr Mercola article ...
Dr. Mercola has put out a great article on the topic of EMF's.
It starts out with a video from Dr. Devra Davis expressing a short direct message that you can pass on to your family and friends.
She mentions Dr. Lennart Hardell, an oncologist in Sweden, and his new study showing a direct link to brain gliomas. She is also recommending precaution taken now and not waiting any longer. Dr. Hardell has a blog that you can see here: http://lennarthardellenglish.wordpress.com/
Dr. Mercola also mentions in the written part of the article about how radio frequency and electromagnetic fields can affect the mitochondrial function of cells causing dysfunction.
As an electro-sensitive person who has been researching my illness, this discussion of mitochondrial dysfunction comes up again and again. It is also associated with many other illness and disease, which would explain their rise as society has increased its use of microwave radiation. There are drugs being used now to repair the mitochondria and some people have had success with them. I am personally looking into this now.
Dr. Mercola also goes on to explain how the Hardell study was done by using regression analysis. He also talks about the possible mechanism of harm coming from cellular stress response, on which he sites Dr. Martin Blank's research. Dr. Martin Blank recently published his book called, "Overpowered" which is highly recommended.
He sums up with some good tips for reducing exposure and even considering the health of those who are sensitive.

Oil rout continues, dragging global stocks lower
What else could one possibly expect unless brain dead?
Now is obviously the time to remove the enormous subsidies going to the fossil fuel sectors and push hard for greater transport efficiencies. The transport sector needs investment in electrification services which is not happening from the private sector. Would that the Republicans understood economics in Congress. Keystone focus is a red herring and not viable economics if reductions in fossil fuel use is achieved. This all hinges on reforms in the transport sector and reduction of huge subsidies that go counter to all logic. Wither Koch brothers ...

Barack Obama: anatomy of a failure » The Spectator
The following military writer got out of the wrong side of the bed! It seems to me to be a pretty stupid assessment based on elitist thinking from the dark ages. In my view, Obama slew the giant, what remains is pollution as it fell to the ground and stunk up the world. The giant is still the problem and America had a giant killer. It now needs a woman to clean up the stench and bile from the death of a misguided US policy under the Bush dynasties. Will Hilary match Merkel?

Russians Rage Against America | New York Observer
Canadians have a fear of America, but we know that the Yankee Doodles are really very nice people being manipulated by oligarchs in the same way the very nice people of Russia are being manipulated by oligarchs. The question for both is to what degree and how soon can /will the oligarchs be shown the door. One is reminded in Russian history of what happened to the Kulaks with the rise of Lenin.
We might all agree that Obama is too polite to all the oligarchs that actively contrive and execute pollution policies and socially derisive policies and programs.
Where is the average person in all this? Just a pawn or eventually a rook?

Sketches from scratches is a provocative blogspot that has grown out of the Wuh Lax experience. It is eclectic, which means that it might consider just about anything from the simple to the extremely difficult. A scratch can be something that is troubling me or a short line on paper. From a scratch comes a verbal sketch or image sketch of the issue or subject. Other sites have other stuff that should really be of interest to the broad reader. I try to develop themes, but variety often comes before depth.
