This auction is extremely important. The Canadian Government is selling this block of wireless airspace to Telecom starting tomorrow for billions of dollars. Unfortunately this lower frequency penetrates through much more and is absorbed by people even more too. They are using it because it goes farther; goes through brick, concrete, metal; and will penetrate into basements, underground garages and elevators.
It will be used on towers in the country and lamp-posts in the city. Yes, they are installing cell antennas on lamp-posts now in Toronto, right in front of your house.
Please take the time to fill out this letter and send to our Industry Minister and your own MP/MPP as well.
The government just announced this week as well that they are going to be selling the 2500 MHz spectrum next year. They won't stop and it will never be enough.

The Federal Government will be auctioning off the 700MHz and the 24-2500 MHz ranges. These are frequencies are ones that are very harmful and we must make efforts to stop this. Please write to Industry Canada before Tuesday, January 14th.

Thank you for pointing out this piece which escaped my reading net. I know Carmen and have been at the receiving end of many of her lectures. Krugman has had a field day arguing with her and with the deflation potential aspects of debt being repaid in the so-called advanced economies.
What matters is the maturity of the debt and who owns the assets that will need to deflate in value.
Maturity mismatch is obvious and has been exaggerated by low interest short term funding for long term exaggerated value assets. At some point the long term bank assets are bad debt because the saleable real value of the assets is much less than the real value of amortisation. Consumers / property developers default on bank loans because the value of their properties is less in nominal terms than apparent nominal debt, rental income and amortisation to be serviced. They have both variable interest rates and property prices to contend with. Who could live in a world where the collective fall in property values and real interest rates work against completing debt amortisation to maturity.
So another crisis is indeed imminent. We have in fact a need to continue to inflate the economy so as to continue to keep property values up, but we are in a cost / value trap. When one looks at a property one needs to have a clear idea of total costs compared with total saleable value plus accumulated rent and interest on that rent and interest, etc.
Plug all these variables into a system of equations where real incomes are stationary or falling?
Yes, gold has value, but perhaps not so much as a store of value because deflation hits everyone and commodities in particular. Bit coin as a hedge?
It's possible to achieve what economists call a soft landing, but part of the process would be to totally delink banks from housing finance, insurance, and stock markets where they are pretty hopeless. Right now there is insurance on change, on the change in the change and on the change in the change in the change? It's a Las Vegas economy coming from American banks that have acquired huge amounts of second and first generation bubble money to play games with.
Interestingly, were the rich to be taxed to pay for all the debt, the world would see productivity and employment rise rather rapidly, because rather than being the gateway to employment the incomes and assets of the rich are a black hole for employment. Traditional capitalism does not and did not produce the goods promised politically.

1. It's critically important at Christmas time not to lull women and children into a false sense of security watching them exposed to EMF radiation using iPads, tablets, and cell phones without saying anything, or watching men of all ages risk worsening tinnitus, sterility and deafness.
2. Turn your WIFI off at night and encourage your cell tower operator in a residential area to move those antennas that in cloudy winter conditions are an increased EMF pollutant. When using a cellular device be aware of the duration and turn on airplane mode when not actively using such devices.
3. You don't want your kids to hate you when they contract cancer or one of the many many broad spectrum diseases / ailments now definitely linked to cell phone use and cell towers in residential / work areas. Remember that your body and it's immune systems communicates with or is embedded within electromagnetic fields. You are a microwave entity and specific wavelengths / vibrations are key to good health, such as the yoga OM sound vibration that extends life by stimulating the vagus nerve system. Light waves are key to happiness and good health. We are learning so much each week as to the importance of physical vibrations seen and unseen. EMF waves are no less important and human life has enjoyed an environment largely free of EMF pollution with the exception of periods of high solar winds when cell mutations drove evolution of species allowing powerful cosmic rays from distant galaxies and our Milky Way to impact cell structures on earth from outside the solar system.
4. Remember that the WHO level tests have moved above the risks of lead and other toxins to the PROBABLE cause of cancer not POSSIBLE, but PROBABLE. Other bad diseases are higher than probable being a highly likely resultant. We don't know how many women in past decades have died of cancer because of broad spectrum EMF radiation because it remains under researched and industry maligned.
5. We can now easily link brain cancer death delivering tumours to those at wartime exposed willy nilly to intense radar. It's likely, we will be able to link cell phone level EMF exposure to many deaths and impairments in the same way in about 2025.
6. Remember that the broad spectrum EMF diseases spread statistically and it is almost impossible to predict specific victims and the timing of severe vulnerability. It's like knowing we will see more and more traffic deaths without knowing whom.
7. Take precautions by switching off your cell phone and gradually move back towards a wired phone system encouraging others to do the same. It's not that inconvenient for home use.
