Solar flare activity has an audience of its own! Combined with cosmic rays solar wind activity creates a dangerous mix of silent undetected radiation.

The current solar cycle was late and it did not have the volume of earlier cycles. People, however, are interested in the implications of solar flare bursts, particularly wen they are suddenly large and knock out communications on earth.

Should you be sunbathing when the spit from the sun hits earth, you may be in for a shock years later. Yes! The sun emits flares spurting forth dangerous X-rays that can harm cells and cause cancer! Will the earth's protective shield be enough?

Unfortunately, as the solar wind hits earth it thins out the normal protection from high energy cosmic ray particles hitting earth all the time. In ozone depleted regions the danger is worse.

Possibly, DNA of life was altered by solar and cosmic ray activity.

Typical Yankee Doodle negative freedom approach. It should scare / scares the hell out of responsible societies that build economies on ethics and on morals!

The Great Recession, a Housing Bubble and Bad Credit - Economic Intelligence (usnews.com)

Well to be more exact, we had so much growth in new housing that effective demand for housing could not keep up. If housing growth had been slower then effective demand would have kept up.  Effective demand is essentially the permanent incomes needed to actually purchase a home when interest rates are allowed to move up as well as down. In short, there was a bubble of houses brought on by a bubble of credit! A rule of thumb is not to sell a home to someone when their effective income times four is less than selling price / need to borrow!  Problem is also that personal debt can bubble up to take away capacity to repay mortgage.

Syrian War is Taking a Dangerous Shape and a Major Fight Will Not Be Good for World Stability in All of its Dimensions .. Economic ... Health ... Etc.

As the war gears up and up, there is a danger of transformation of the Middle East and well beyond.

Timing is bad as Israel fears for its future from nuclear threat of Iran.  The nightmare would be a war in which major economies are drawn into a fight to the end dragging down the world economy.

Assad must go, but he has neighbours such as Russia and friends such as Iran who are protecting his interests.

Peace is unlikely and stock markets should expect major adjustment in the year ahead!

Spying can change the course of history, certainly the lives of individuals. The urge to whistleblow on the misuse of powers designed in theory to protect is nothing but the urge to right a wrong and the world pressure against whistleblowing can be immense.

If the spying is predatory rather than protective then .....

Were you taken in by an email sending you the 'Religion of Peace Demonstration' Hoax Photos

Yes! Hoax photos of terrible slogans against Europeans are being circulated by email and on the Internet.

The story under the photos misrepresents mainstream Muslim attitudes and were not taken during a recent peace march! On the contrary, the photos were a highly orchestrated reaction to insults perceived by Muslim radicals to desecration of Muslim sights and beliefs by those making fun of the religion.

As in the case of Northern Ireland violence and parading is not the answer to religious observance. Far better to pray in a mosque or church for peace and then denote big time to charities that help poor people!

To understand the photos remember first that it is always best to give generously to those who really need your help! They won't be carrying such signs, but you will spot them easily as victims of pollution..

Sketches from scratches is a provocative blogspot that has grown out of the Wuh Lax experience. It is eclectic, which means that it might consider just about anything from the simple to the extremely difficult. A scratch can be something that is troubling me or a short line on paper. From a scratch comes a verbal sketch or image sketch of the issue or subject. Other sites have other stuff that should really be of interest to the broad reader. I try to develop themes, but variety often comes before depth. ... more!
