Wilting natural maple tree numbers. Referred to as a rubbish tree. Cutting of maple trees ruins Ontario ambiance as the pine mentality takes over.
Ontario needs sound policy initiatives and evaluations for continuous improvement in approach to green issues. People are sleeping through this.
People in Ontario are traditionally energy wasters and the opposite of green. There is a sense of being good, but the effects in reality are inconsistency in action.
Trees are/were felled by farmers hungry for land and furniture factories who went out of business and vast areas have no natural maple trees any more. Deforestation of the natural maple is almost complete in many areas.
Hard woods are not efficient so people are talking about growing bamboo?
Judge for yourself by driving through rural Ontario and looking for regions that have retained natural maple trees. What you see is trees planted, but all older vegetation of the maple is gone in many places. All trees in some drive throughs were bought at local garden shops. The destruction of natural growth is complete all over the province, and pines have taken over as the preferred tree!
Forget the slogans, Toronto maple leafs should be Toronto pine trees. The maple leaf on the national flag should be replaced with the fast growing Swedish pine tree.
Money issues and a general failure to regrow Maple areas rules rather than good sense throughout Ontario. The old ambiance of a treed area is now gone. Compare Ontario with Michigan!
The Canadian flag needs to be replaced with a pine needle rather than maple leaf. The age of the natural Canadian maple has gone because of neglect of this treasure.
Cut, cut, cut... Chop chop...wheeerrrrr whirr, buzzzzzzzz
