Potential cancer horror over cell phone tower radiation? Is it to be our problem? What are the alternatives?
Watch this video on YouTube which is of a community that was not aware of the longer term danger and tell me whether you think it is right for a powerful phone tower to be located in a residential area, our residential area.
I would be thinking that a mile might provide a safe distance? Maybe that is because I am just as ignorant as anyone else!
Reality is that people really could be indifferent to the potential effects of the new Bell installation within Southcott Pines.
One concern about a location near us would be the nesting squirrels, birds and racoons since the likelihood of their getting cancer is so much greater! Or is it?
Are the guidelines for notice and distances from residences and wildlife being met?

Looks like Barclays may be more innocent than its detractors might have us believe.
Banks tend to know more than the Bank of England about market conditions! They are very good at making flow calculations.
It would appear market rates at the time were not reflecting market conditions because of secret "lender of last resort" operations by the Bank of England and also because of competition between banks duping each other into believing what they wanted others to believe!
In terms of the 'real' situation the level of Barclays rates may have been more representative! If you don't want to lend to a bad bank you will not offer a lower rate, or the going rate at which some of the banks are receiving funds secretly from the Bank of England. Secret interventions are not conducive to normal operations of a financial market and hense dealers would guess at what flows were secretly coming into the market. There are many shades of meaning to the idea that banks are in trouble or short of funds. Competition by more desperate operators than moves rates can mean that a bank is unwilling to deal or delaying a deal because it has guessed the situation and has adopted any number of tactics that offer a better outcome.
Rates are sampled and a delaying or pushing forward of transactions can alter levels especially when dealers don't trust the 'normality' of the flows into and from the market.
Also, it has now to be shown that traders were actually and unequivicably able to influence the reporting of rates. This is actually more difficult than it sounds.
Competitive game theory level tactics are not going to be revealed in a public enquiry.

War is not resolution....which instead occurs with balance and harmony at the deepest level!
War is repetition of the calamities of the past! It does not bring about peace, but war makes future balance, fairness and peace harder!
We need to eliminate the widespread ignorance of better approaches to resolving issues between people who could be friends permanently.
People are to be enjoyed not feared.
We need to create balance based on information about motivation, building the means of cooperation and resource sharing, developing mutual respect and a widespread ethos of caring!
Where has love of family and nation gone? War is not an answer to anyone's frustrations. It serves only fear and negative emotion.
Children brought into conflict are being targeted along with families who are less and less innocent to the potential fo their elimination!
Civil war in Syria seems inevitable and may drag the whole region into conflagration.
Why oh why are the present emphemeral leaders of Iran and Syria doing such nail biting things diplomatically?
A rage fed on an unwillingness to communicate and understand. A fear of change towards love and understanding. The fearful angry animal spirit rages to dominate the thinking caring and loving mind!
If ever the logic of love and understanding were needed, this is the time!

Why had such information about price collusion not prompted a reaction in the leadership, especially as it was said that officials at the Bank of England were informed closer to the time. One needs to know the money management process. What has evolved to make traders more autonomous?
In any event, high risk actions were bound to happen and will continue. When risk embodies criminal price setting and collusion management intervention is needed and more open practices adopted and recorded!

Many people would be surprised that private concerns dominate such a key network stretch irregardless of whether it makes money!
If you comment in favour of government ownership of the new bridge be prepared to be called socialist or much worse, even of robbing Alberta of its money earned by selling tainted oil.
John Collinson appears to comment against any pro-government effort to build a new bridge.
If you live near Detroit, you will be aware of the immense amount of paid advertising against the building of a new bridge. It would seem that to engage in opening up a new artery into Detroit and Michigan would some how impoverish Detroit!
Take a moment to realize that there is already a bridge into Detroit that is privately owned. The picture then drops into place! Who gains if no new bridge is built. Dah! Could it be the existing owners of the existing bridge that is in private hands.
Perhaps, this is a case book example of why it is wrong for the future of key infrastructure protects to be decided by commercial interests. You don't have to be a socialist to realize that commerce as a whole can be held to ransome!
