The Hidden Dimensions of Our Reality

Remember the notions of point, line, plane or square, cube.

We tend to think of our universe as having three dimensions and then possibly time. We stumble at the worry of our death because we think that somehow we cannot reconstruct the other three dimensions of our existence into the time dimension. We fear that for us time ends.

What is the fallacy of all this mistaken reasoning about time? We forget, don't realise, can't see, have no faith in the evidence that there are a plethora of much stronger dimensions hidden within our obvious three dimensions that make the time dimension somewhat limited.

These hidden, yet obvious, dimensions do in fact control our very being and indeed shape our conscious reactions to all our sensations in life. We have our sense of self-awareness because of them and within them is protection of our most vital wants, desires and wishes. The problem is that it takes insight to see the hidden dimensions. The insight comes over time as we accumulate knowledge and eventually reach a takeoff, a critical mass in our awareness that propels us the see the obvious.

The hidden dimensions are associated with laws of mathematics which we understand as self replicating and repeating in squares, cubes, and cubes of cubes. They run throughout our three dimensions of lines, squares, and cubes, which we know ordinarily as our three dimensions. Occasionally, some people's brains will be in tune with the hidden dimensions, such as Dr. Bucke and Walt Whitman.

Hidden within matter is obviously, and I mean quite visibly the dimension of what I can only describe as God. We call the visible evidence of the hidden dimensions a self replicating set. That a physical set can have consciousness is not really so remarkable in reality.

The evidence of other dimensions weaving their way through our obvious three dimensions, plus the three dimensions of time, is not so remarkable if we meditate on them for a while with a bit of higher mathematics. The math really is not even needed but provides the proof.

They are hidden in a sense because most of us don't recognise them even as a dimension or dimensions nor see how it/they extends our existence both within time, within space-time and even outside of visible dimensions into others that the hidden dimension points to.

In fact there are so many hidden dimensions associated with the fractals nature of our multi-dimensional worlds that science will in the future have much work to understand even the surfaces that we recognise.

What do these dimensions mean to us? Lots. They, for a start, show us how God exists. They give proof to the existence of immersions that use matter to produce consciousness and self awareness.

Very simply, by being aware of the many hidden dimensions woven into the fabric of our universes, we can begin to understand our purpose more clearly, how we fit in and how we can shape our conscious future. We can realize that we are fabricated by the hidden dimensions and behave scientifically definable laws as well as have properties inherently God like. We can see God and for some even communicate with God for the first time and realize what God will do with us and for us. We can shed the fear of death and consciously build our own dimensions knowing that they will survive in the three dimensions of time. God should not be anything so extraordinary, but as higher creatures, we can entertain a realistic relationship with God, not a fantasy.

Many of us do, and it's no big deal unless you don't.

Leaking and Wikileaking! Why and why not!

Firstly, it is my opinion that leaking confidential information is inherently wrong. It is above all bad manners. I really can damage social relationships and have serious unforeseen negative consequences. It is unethical. It is usually illegal. You should not do it. People need secret information to do sick things and it's wrong to enable sick actions.

Secondly, systems and exchanges that are open work best. Honesty and trust come from mutual respect inherent in an absence of the disease of addiction in its myriad forms that spawns secrecy and eventually premature death through hundreds of different avenues the worst of them being genocide and all out war.

Religion is an addictive process if it is not open and changeable and look at how religion spawns wars.

Science when it is open is not addictive, but if it is closed becomes addictive and leads to war and competition that leads to war and premature death of people, schools of thought, companies and countries. Just take a look at North Korea or Iran.

So, it is my position that open exchange is the must way to go. We have seen how secrecy of governments leads to mistrust and wars. Look at all the dead from the first and second world wars, the secret alliances resulting in the most horrible of acts and nefarious deeds. Best to be honest in your feelings and be open to the views of those who have healthy approaches to living and exchanging.

Thus, wikileaks, as a phenomenon is not inherently bad. It is much better than not being open about what you feel and believe or closing yourself off from reasoned debate and discussion.

Leaking private information nevertheless is inherently evil and is an attack on the dignity of ones neighbours and colleagues, associates and acquaintances, strangers and not so strangers. Don't practice it!

Shrinking Euro Union Seen by Creditors Who Cried for Argentina - Bloomberg ... Well really?

In my view, Argentina was entirely predictable because of the excessive dollar borrowing, but for members of the Euro zone, I suspect there is a major difference being that it's much easier just to subsidize Greece, Portugal and Ireland while exacting fiscal reform at a pace that is not terribly destructive.

There seems to be such a thing as the America disease and perhaps one should speculate whether American dollar would split up as California goes away from Texas the source of many of it's economic ills.

Such speculation makes one wonder whether the Americans eagerness to push dollars at us from all directions may require a rethink of international currencies such as the US dollar which seem to do more harm than good when used as a substitute for local currency. Crises are possibly lessened by diversification of borrowing and use of diversification foreign currencies for local currency substitutes. The problem is a lack of sophistication by banks and operators at street level.

This may change with technology for communicating currency value of a wider range of assets and liabilities. The trick is at the street level to diversify your currency portfolio.

So it was the breakup of the region locking onto the dollar or yen that we saw with the Asian and Argentinian crisis.

Is the Euro crisis not then in reality a dollar crisis?

Too many dollars used as local currency or as assets / deposits are at the root of our problems.

Well y'er tis our next crisis! Cheap Debt Fuels Private-Equity Revival - NYTimes.com

Filter down economics does not work very well. What caused our international competitive crisis was just that, competition. The competition was fed by too much liquidity and so our wise monetary authorities have increased liquidity thereby increasing the need to compete and creating the very vicious cycle of making the economy messier and messier to manage with bigger and bigger firms gobbling up bigger and bigger firms. Nobody seems to think that feeding the competitive urge to increase the scale of buying and selling assets might just be at the root if our disharmony.

Government action is pushing us deeper and deeper into greater and greater crisis. Would that the policy makers dared read a few economic history textbooks!

Continuous Improvement! Of Course, the Economics Text Books are Basically Wrong Which is Why the Fed's Policy is so Messy

Throw thirty years into a real economy and the thirty years you missed in your textbook make it obsolete, as well as your economy, if it doesn't reform constantly. That's the missing factor in text books. Call it capitalized labour, innovation, technology embodied in capital, market change, competitive restructuring. Well, the economic text books don't cover it very well, freakonomics or not! Everything has to improve continuously to match the reality of technical change.

How do we stay on top of our changing environment?

We do it by continuous education of our total workforce. To make an incentive, we need to value the process of improving continuously. We do that by making psychological factors pull and push us forward.

David Einhorn Explains How QE2 Will Affect The Average American In One Sentence

Why does one suspect that David is right? The problem is not liquidity so much as overhang and debt which increased liquidity probably will not help that much. Could a side effect be weakening of the dollar as it's value in the eyes of domestic holders declines? Perhaps overkill is too strong, but who is this increase supposed to help, the repayers of loans from the government or overextended consumer borrowers? Or, is it some third group of upscale taxpayers who want to get their kids university costs paid for?

Will the Euro break up over the next two years.

This is not advice and only a loosely held opinion, BUT .....

Off the top of my head, I don't think there is much of a precedent despite what other economists say. It's likely that the rules for membership of the Euro will get tougher and fiscal policy will go the same way as monetary policy into coordinated realms like the US Fed. The Canadian dollar survived and I expect the Euro will survive and probably do very well thank you. The world needs the Euro. Europe needs the Euro. We all need the Euro. Who would want to see Europe's framework weaken other than a stinking thinking individual. This is not about opportunism born out of American corruption, but of decent hard working peoples trying to coordinate efforts over the longer time so as to reduce the chance of war.

Gresham's law would prevail. Experiments such as Alberta issuing it's own currency did not last very long and failed because good money drove out bad. Any country that tried to opt out of the Euro would find it's currency treated as bad and a black market of Euros or dollars would probably prevail. Germany has the staying power to keep the Euro strong and the energy policy to take Europe into a world economic leadership position. Britain may join the Euro within a decade, but the size of the Euro zone will not in my opinion diminish much if at all despite Greece and Ireland.

On the other hand the dollar as a source of world economic ills may get it's opportunity to move closer to parity with the Euro as fears of Euro break up increase.

French publishers plan digital newsstand

From The International Herald Tribune:

French publishers plan digital newsstand

PARIS — With sales of newspapers and magazines flagging at the ornate kiosks that adorn the boulevards of Paris, French publishers hope that a planned ''digital kiosk'' can help revive their fortunes.

The publishers, representing eight of the leading dailies and weeklies in France, said last week that they had formed a consortium to manage the project, which aims to create a single online portal to sell the publications' contents via the Web, mobile phones and tablet computers like the iPad. Consumers could buy articles or subscriptions with a single click of a mouse once they had created an account.

''The idea is to put a value on online content,'' said Frédéric Filloux, a former newspaper editor who is heading the project. ''It's a matter of survival for us.''

The plan is being introduced as newspapers everywhere are rethinking their digital business models, which until now have mostly been built on advertising-supported Web sites that were free to users. With online ad revenue falling short of hopes, some publishers are putting up pay walls, and others are considering plans to charge users for access to their sites.

The need for new sources of income is particularly great in France, where newspaper readership is low and many publications survive only because of government support.

Payback time darkens Ireland’s view of E.U.

From The International Herald Tribune:

Payback time darkens Ireland's view of E.U.

Just about the time Ireland joined what was then the European Economic Community in 1973, Fintan O'Toole ran with the other teenagers around his public housing complex in Dublin, joyously reciting, ''We are into Europe!'' Playing on the title of a popular television show, they were celebrating the riches in European agricultural support that would now begin flowing to Irish farmers.

It was the start of a European journey that over the next three and a half decades delivered a transformational boon to the mainly rural economy of Ireland, a small country long overshadowed by Britain. With it came a brasher new identity and a new sense of political independence, as Ireland took its place in the constellation of European countries.

How things have changed: Last weekend, Mr. O'Toole spoke at a rally that urged Ireland to reject an €85 billion bailout program, equivalent to $112 billion, backed by the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund, calling instead for Ireland to repudiate much of its debt to international banks. The rally's setting, on O'Connell Street in Dublin outside the General Post Office, said it all: It was the center of Ireland's 1916 rebellion against British rule, now redolent of the backward-looking and helpless gloom that has descended on Ireland since it became the latest victim of the European debt crisis.

An angry Libya delayed atom deal

From The International Herald Tribune:

An angry Libya delayed atom deal

WASHINGTON — In the early morning of Nov. 25, 2009, a large Russian cargo plane left the Libyan capital, Tripoli, on a secret mission, but without its intended cargo.

A small stockpile of spent nuclear fuel destined for disposal in Russia remained behind in a lightly guarded research center, apparently because of a fit of pique by Libya's leader, Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi.

In a frantic cable to Washington, U.S. officials in Tripoli warned of dire consequences unless the carefully brokered deal to remove the 5.2 kilograms, or 11.4 pounds, of highly enriched uranium stored in seven five-ton casks was quickly resurrected.

If the enriched uranium ''is not removed from the casks within three months, its rising temperature could cause the casks to crack and to release radioactive nuclear material,'' the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli reported, according to cables made public by WikiLeaks. ''Security concerns alone dictate that we must employ all of our resources to find a timely solution to this problem, and to keep any mention of it out of the press.''

The seeds of what appeared to be the demise of the secret deal were planted weeks earlier in New York, when Colonel Qaddafi expressed unhappiness that he was not permitted to set up his tent in Manhattan or to visit the site of the destroyed World Trade Center towers during a United Nations session.

Distrust in Europe for tracing transactions

From The International Herald Tribune:

Distrust in Europe for tracing transactions

WASHINGTON — When the European Parliament ordered a halt in February to a U.S. government program to monitor international banking transactions for terrorist activity, the Obama administration was blindsided by the rebuke.

''Paranoia runs deep especially about US intelligence agencies,'' a secret cable from the American Embassy in Berlin said. ''We were astonished to learn how quickly rumors about alleged U.S. economic espionage'' had taken root among German politicians who opposed the bank-monitoring program, it said.

The memo was among dozens of State Department cables that revealed the deep distrust of some traditional European allies toward what they considered American intrusion into their citizens' affairs without stringent oversight.

The program, created in secrecy by the Bush administration after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, has allowed American counterterrorism officials to examine reams of banking transactions routed through a vast database run by a Brussels consortium known as Swift. When the program was disclosed in 2006 by The New York Times, just months after the newspaper reported the existence of the National Security Agency's warrantless wiretapping program, it set off protests in Europe and forced the United States to accept new restrictions.

Humbled? Sure, but also proud

From The International Herald Tribune:

Humbled? Sure, but also proud

MANAMA, BAHRAIN — When U.S. diplomats get together these days, there is lots of dark talk about the fallout from the sensational disclosure of secret diplomatic cables. Will angry foreign governments kick out ambassadors? Will spooked locals stop talking to their embassy contacts?

Behind all the public hand-wringing, however, there is another, more muted reaction: pride.

The WikiLeaks affair has turned an unaccustomed spotlight on the diplomatic corps — pinstriped authors who pour their hearts and minds into cables, which are filed to the U.S. State Department and, until now, were often barely read by desk officers, let alone senior diplomats.

Whatever damage the leaks may do, and nobody doubts it could be substantial, they have showcased the many roles of the Foreign Service officer in the field: part intelligence analyst, part schmoozer, part spy — and to judge by these often artful cables, part foreign correspondent.

The pride of authorship is shared by their boss, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who found a silver lining in the disclosures, even after she spent last week trying to smooth the feathers of foreign leaders described in the cables as feckless, profligate, vain, corrupt or worse.

Signs of vast hacking by a Web-wary China

From The International Herald Tribune:

Signs of vast hacking by a Web-wary China

As China ratcheted up the pressure on Google to censor its Internet searches last year, the U.S. Embassy sent a secret cable to Washington detailing one reason top Chinese leaders had become so obsessed with the Internet search company: They were Googling themselves.

The May 18, 2009, cable, titled ''Google China Paying Price for Resisting Censorship,'' quoted a well-placed source as saying that Li Changchun, a member of China's top ruling body, the Politburo Standing Committee, and the country's senior propaganda official, was taken aback to discover that he could conduct Chinese-language searches on Google's main international Web site. When Mr. Li typed his name into the search engine at google.com, he found ''results critical of him.''

That cable from U.S. diplomats was one of many made public by WikiLeaks that portray China's leadership as nearly obsessed with the threat posed by the Internet to their grip on power — and, the reverse, by the opportunities it offered them, through hacking, to obtain secrets stored in computers of its rivals, especially the United States.

Extensive hacking operations suspected of originating in China, including one leveled at Google, are a central theme in the cables. The operations began earlier and were aimed at a wider array of U.S. government and military data than generally known, including on the computers of U.S. diplomats involved in climate change talks with China.

Bill Gates Now Promoting Apple Macs On His Blog

That a prominent information source Business Insider says such a thing suggests that editorial review there is somewhat lacking despite the sense of humour. We all know that the seesawing between Apple and Microsoft, between Gates and Jobs, has gone on now for forty or more years. That it's Apple's turn now at innovation comes as no real surprise and has to be admired. Microsoft dropped the tablet many times because as a language and software house your market orientation is very different from that of Apple. Using servers to process commands, as well as the tablet, is only a temporary phenomenon. As we enter the terabyte-memory-as-normal phase, who will care about the Internet... Seesaw!

Super jumbo problems - Report Details Qantas Pilots' Response - WSJ.com

Would you rationally want to fly in this plane with the possible risks as great as they appear? Maybe the passenger services on the super jumbos should be minimized until we all know for certain what went wrong (and why?) with the fuel line. With so many passengers at risk of death or injury when the super jumbo is fully loaded, the inherent risk for any one individual is much higher. Here is a case where economies of large scale appear to have backfired, for now at least!

Where is cellular technology and WIFI going?

You tell me!

With the advent of the iPad and it's me-too followers using me-too operating systems and me-too retail technologies, we see Apple leading the way. That's not surprising given that it takes several generations to get a technology economy on the move. Well, we are abbot to see loft off.

When I am highly emotional, I come out with profound comments such as solid state technologies will take over and revolutionize the electronics industry once more. My approach is always very long term and my analysis focuses on the core of technologies which were the subject matter of my university readings many decades ago.

I was greatly disappointed by Microsoft's pathetic efforts over the past thirty years even though they came to spawn and dominate the industry and leave IBM in the dust. Will Apple also disappoint. I think not given what I know about the philosophy of the company and it's depth of understanding about where people and user groups are driving the industry.

Our world is dominated by the fear of terrorism, which like the need to spend money on defense is very harmful to consumer product development over the longer term. Sure technology companies will design products to fight terrorism, but much of what we could see will be deferred until more secure times.

Obviously, we are witnessing a volume upscaling of information exchange though rather belatedly as we allow consumers to be suckered into buying obsolete technologies. That's ok, since there is a need to pace technology innovation and development in order to string out employment opportunity over time. Going slower helps give slower communities jobs. By obsolete, I would include the plethora of USB 2 technologies currently finding sales.

We are just not geared up to the notion of USB 3 and it's multiplicative effect on information exchange volumes. More information to hide terrorist messages being exchanged and reason enough to slow down the pace of technology revolution somewhat so that security agencies can catch up. We don't want to move too fast.

That raises the question, however, that we may be playing into a economic game in which size of firm and end market really does matter, but speed of development and spawning rates for new divisions matters even more. Why pick all the winners when you can play hopscotch? That's the Japanese business expansion strategy of yore which seems not so much in evidence now, but which is probably very much in effect. Don't try to do all the technologies. Just pick those that you know will produce economies of scale. Get in there early by all means, but recognize that rate of obsolescence is accelerating.

So we see the French trying to sell USB 3 devices in Paris while me-tooers elsewhere are not in evidence. So how is this an opportunity for the next generation of Apply light weigh fully incoblock products. Put a terabyte memory into a device instead of gigabyte and ram up production to grab the deflation opportunities in the market and what have you. You have a new WIFI demand making existing devices operating on 3G and USB 2 very much obsolete. So watch memory get rammed up several more notches to takes right into the video age. There is so much to do!

The Market Economy and then there is the Trader Economy - Manachean Devil or Just Intelligent Opponent

Some activities are ideal for specific personalities. Human personality can define what you are good at based on how you have self selected your specialisation. The problem is that many money making activities require personality, energy, resilience, intelligence, adaptability, resourcefulness, endurance, canniness, and persistence. Markets that involve strategy are much too difficult for modelling as yet though the best brains have tried.

A World Without Work

Rick Bookstaber theorises about the influence of economies of scale in technology and the implications of falling costs on consumption.

Bookstaber's discussion is pretty close to what What we are seeing and not so far off the mark. It would be interesting to put his hypothesis in a more general economic model. He, nevertheless, has pulled out two of the more fascinating influences operating within our modern economies. Power to him:

http://www.businessinsider.com/secular-deflation-2010-11

A similar model results in the deflation of the housing market which receives the benefit of over expansion of the money supply, but this leads to deflation as there is insufficient consumption demand for the second cycle of demand that results from too much money. The inflation of too much money can offset the deflation of technology providing the money supply growth is in balance for long term consumption capacity, normally seen as the long term income or permanent income as per Milton Friedman. This can explain why a well designed combination Keynesian, Schumpeterian and Friedman's models will work together but leave one out and none will work. All three together provide a reasonable framework of analysis as first suggested in the 1930's bynthe economist and mathematician, Professor Moore.

Why Humans Lost Their Fur

Have you ever wondered why humans have so little fur? If you can think of the reason, you might be able to look back in time to our collective past.

My feeling is that it was because for much of our history, we lived in the dark.

The Strengths of the American Economy and the Ebb and Flow of Economic Change

It's easy to say that current economic policies of America may weaken it's competitive position as a producer of goods, but it would be wrong to say the economy is weak. My comments are generally that economies with weak exchange rates tend to slacken their competitive edge on the productivity side as measured by value of output per worker. It's too easy to develop behind a wall of price protectionism that does little to spur productivity or innovation. Stagnant product improvement because of price weakness does nothing to train the next stage of consumption. America paid the price of a weak exchange rate with the crises of the late 1970s and early 1980s. The Texas banking crisis was also a consequence of loosening the shoelace of competition by making money to easy to come by. Thus, weak monetary policy and weak exchange rates do not auger well for employment over the longer term as a country's manufacturing base ups and leaves when the going gets tough again. Witness American industry migration to China and India.

China does not do itself any long term favors by a weak exchange rate since this reduces the pressure in China to innovate. Sooner than expected there is overcapacity. Money driven inflation will come, wages and incomes go up, interest rates rise, money harder to come by, and Chinese firms will not be that competitive. A large internal market will be China's salvation, but it needs competitive forces to really spur it on as the public sector demands more and more.

Our reality is that not only do products themselves need to incorporate more and more price insensitive aspects to maintain or increase market size, qualitative improvement by specification of more and more market branches with derivation of scale economies. But also, the mix of products needs to be further fine tuned and technologically designed to match income growth or decline. The strength of America is it's huge internal market. This is a lesson China needs to take on board.

Spot On - Whether You Like it, Shoreditch style projects are What is Needed - but what about Education?

At a time when the UK Prime Minister is raising the ante for students who want to enter the workforce of the next century, he appears to be thinking of creating a technological dynamo in London at Shoreditch. This is great news as the rag trade center of the seventies transforms itself to serve the creative needs of a future London that could take on the creative centers of the giant economies. Yes, get out of banking and rags and get into technologies. Too little thinking too late in my thinking. Too much Gordon Brown and not enough Maggy has lead to poverty and dependency, excessive risk taking, obsession with property, and silly financing.

So much sour thinking that has come out of the previous administration with Gordon Brown giving people what the country really did not have and so much spending we now see as a big waste of money. Rather than give people hope, the Social Democrats had a way of sapping at the roots of the British economy's vitality focusing the country on consumption rather than creative marketing, innovation and new job production in the technology sectors.

As Britain has slipped further down the league tables in technology innovation, it has registered a disappointing growth in real terms when one subtracts all the waste in property. Focusing on beer, gambling, and football the country has caused it's own slump and smashed the world records for dismal performance. The decline was obvious to all but the previous government.

A new effort to redirect the economy is badly needed, but it does not auger well that the potential for progress is being cut off at the knees with the pressure on the Lib Dems to abandon their push for further education and support of tuition at higher levels of achievement in education.

The backbone of long term economic growth is a sound and extensive education system growing from within and the Tories could be making their biggest mistake by not getting behind the push by the Lib Dems to strengthen and encourage the education base that Britain needs desperately.

It will be the students that make the future of Britain, but many will digress into real estate, dependency on large corporations and banking because that is becoming their only hope of ever owning a home. Worse still they might leave for education and employment elsewhere in Europe.

Why reinforce the mistake of Gordon Brown when the coalition government could give the youngsters a solid hope of a bright future.

Cut other stuff and give targeted support to tuition fees. David you should rethink the overall direction of the cuts. Don't work against creativity when that is where employment will come.

What do others think?

The Strangeness of the Chinese Property Bubble ...... a Bubble of Bricks and Mortar

Build and leave empty seems strange and it's consequences may auger in the next financial crisis, one beginning in China! What the Chinese need to understand is the relationship between income an value.

Forget labour theory of value or a money theory of value.

It's the system working smoothly that allows for real success not speculation on future domestic incomes which just may not be realized. It will be interesting to see whether the speculators have their numbers correct or are they behaving according to addictive processes of gambling and unrealistic assumptions of habit persistence in the housing market.

This is communism and capitalism mixed together in a very strange way. More communist than capitalist? No!

Will household balance sheets of future China be strong enough to sustain the value of the property built above sale price, or will too many homes be built and left empty?
