Global warming might stop another Sandy, study finds - THonline.com: National/World

Oh! Sure? And, we know what controls the jet stream and sunspots?

I would still take out insurance. Remember the worst ever storm of 1913 that sank the Canadian fleet on the Great Lakes, or the Hazel hurricane of 1956 that hit the Great Lakes!  

The big question is why one such Sandy storm in 700 years (who was counting, anyway), and if it happened once, why not again. Nature can create the same amount of havoc in a multitude of ways? 

In the UK, the possibility of the flooding of London should not be discounted despite the Thames barrier.  

Michael Fish did not see the great storm that hit Britain in the 1980s even though it was staring him and the TV audience in full view.
