'Looper', the movie about time travel presents a dark picture of the future, perhaps though not as dark as it could be.  The story has nothing to do with Hofstadter's "I am a Strange Loop" which explains our continuous loop that creates consciousness!  The movie 'Looper' includes Bruce Willis, but it is not one of his better films, probably one of the worst I have seen. Entertaining, yes, but extraordinarily convoluted in its assumptions needed to make the plot and the looping logical. I was continuously faced with logical inconsistencies, not because I didn't understand looping, but because my prior vision of the future was almost entirely different. To say the least, it was difficult to drop prior expectations and enjoy the film.

Please remember that I am still half human and earnestly trying to relax in retirement and much of the stuff I do and say is unintentionally going to contain innocent mistakes. I apologize for any gaffs of mine that have touched you.  Please let me know about them!

I try to develop themes, but variety often comes before depth. ... more!
