Dear Dr. Carl Belke,
Entertainment Issues that Will Create Unresolvable Health and Environmental Issues in Southcott Pines Park
Thank you for your email message saying you were not my friend. I can see why not!
1. You have not clarified adequately why it is necessary to replace the analog receiving antenna owned by Stubbs presently at Southcott Pines Park. The analog equipment became obsolescent and should have been phased out by removing that tower and others in the park, completely. Why do obsolescent receivers remain?
2. You have not explained why fibre optic technology was not used/proposed by Stubbs to provide a complete and safe broadband service to SPPA members.
3. You have not adequately explained why it was decided to sign contracts with industrial partners before the members of the SPPA were informed. Previous practice was to inform members before signing contracts. Participation of industry within the Southcott Pines Park is not something members should see being undertaken without proper consultation of the whole membership, in fact, it should be prohibited. It assumes people are incapable of contributing to a wise discussion. Why the haste? Who gains?
4. You have not adequately established that there is no significant health risk from blood brain barrier weakening due to RF pollution from the proposed industrial facility near a childrens playground and nearby residents. Mixing residences and playgrounds is simply incompatible with a precautionary approach. It's massively unwise and reckless? Why is it even contemplated?
5. You have not explained why you are the better to judge health risks from industrial plant in a park. What gives you this authority? Why do you say that you wish to keep key aspects of the process of information flows secret? What have you to hide? It seems a bit control freakish!
6. You do not seem to be aware that Industry Canada, Health Canada, and the Canadian communications industry have not researched the dangers of industrial level RF pollution, nor made adequate suggestions of ways to get around them. Did you personally do any serious research?
7. You seem to think that by treating a significant number of residents close to the industrial site as somehow falling in line with ill informed conventional wisdom will be adequate policy on your part.
Very disappointed in you personally,
Arthur Lake
