British bank chief warns quantitative easing is 'laying seeds for next crisis' | Business | The Guardian

I guess the point is that the money will be used to fight a spree of bank takeovers which is part and parcel of the original problem. Growing your balance sheet by purchase of assets was used to persue a competitive strategy. It was not so much seen as a means of profit, but as a means to garner bonuses and prepare for a takeover or fend against one. Any idiot realizes that the margin on such acquisition of assets is highly risky?
