The army of Libya has always made use of foreign weapons and mercenaries. It is as much an invasion force as anyone could imagine. Though it claims to protect the integrity of the borders of Libya, it secretly opens those borders to mercenaries. Historically, they have come from as far away as Russia during the 1970s, and as close as Egypt during the same period.
Gaddafi does not enjoy a popular majority of sentiment in Libya. Simple as that. He is in effect an invading force, but with the addition being that he was helped by Russia, and he now employs lots and lots of mercenaries from nearby countries.
Gaddafi models himself along the model of Stalin. He employs Stalinist methods in a modern world, and he is as insensitive to his people as the Russian dictator. Yes, Gaddafi is a Stalinist style dictator, a totalitarian, par excellence, a figment of the past, and a sad reminder of how bad governance is perpetuated into the future.
The world needs to be rid of it's dictators, such as Gaddafi. it is time for them to go. We all know how much harm they cause, and that they are ruthless, non citizen like, cruel, immoral agents of the worst forms of controls over people that the world has known.
It is time the world was rid of it's dictators like Colonel Gaddafi. Those who helped him in the past should by now have changed their position and should oppose him and help to remove his scourge on earth.
