We may think we are immune to what has happened in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Bahrain, but and it is an important but, there may be more to it. Best to be forewarned.
I think of them as bastard worldwide economic, social and political cycles that create desperation and then violence. They start with financial crisis and instability of major currencies. There is inflation and social upheaval.
The mathematics is in economic models that show economies moving into unstable regions in which there is breakdown. We ignore such dynamic processes and mathematics at our peril.
What's starving the world into violence is our denial of a dangerous economic cycle made up of forces that can lead in the long term to moral disintegration, social disintegration and conflict between neighbours, formerly friends living side by side for generations. At the worst, we can easily remember what happened in Poland during World War II.
Don't deny that it did not happen because it can happen again. Religious leaders witnessed it and were helpless as criminals organised and ordinary people sought refuge in leaders such as Hitler who sought their own solutions to what they conceived as the problem, turning men against men, and moving from sanity into irrationality, oppression and eventually towards mass murder.
Perhaps, the key to what we are witnessing in terms of unrest worldwide is the confluence of several forces with the motivator of starvation being the strongest.
The dark side of economics ......How about financial crisis leading to uncertainty leading to reflation economics leading to higher liquidity leading to temporary stock market recovery leading to liquidity trap and low real growth leading to higher food prices leading to speculation on food and commodities leading to higher commodity prices generally leading to worldwide inflationary pressures leading to hunger leading to anger worldwide leading to rebellion and taking to the streets leading to revolution and taking food into control leading to fuller stomachs leading to temporary happiness for some while inflation in food prices is leading to more and more hunger in others, leading to stock market collapse in an non-recoverable way, leading to repression and dictatorships and violence worldwide....perhaps a major war.
Is it possible? Yes!
Is it necessary? No! NO......

Speculation arises from excess liquidity before the economic rebound. As profit margins recover prices are rising and unemployment is rife. Speculation, if not managed by higher interest rates and tightening of the money supply will lead to complete moral decline and rebellion everywhere, not just Africa.
Both private and government sectors democrats and republicans need to work cooperatively to stabilise the recovery.
Obama's role is never more crucial!
Too much money out there!
The cycle of temporary economic recovery begins, but will it go off track as world leaders and political parties fumble, and bumble?
http://wn.com/Commodity_Speculation_=_Hunger
There are bad consequences to speculation in food commodities, repression in dictatorships and unrest leading to instability around the world.
It is time for world leaders to wake up to what has happened owing to the consequences of American inflation in speculative money worldwide created during 2002-2010.
The dollar is dangerous. It acts as a subtle a revolutionary agent, like grease in a gun. It buys weapons from countries like Britain to suppress people in countries like Libya. It causes starvation through food price speculation. It forces desperate people to rebel who are then shot in the streets as their repressive leaders act control their concept peace and stability.
Think what could happen in China with a repressive military despot taking over!
