Press freedom: Retreat from Moscow | Editorial | Comment is free | The Guardian

These days to expel reporters for writing their views and presenting facts is a weakling and cowardly approach to living. Why are the people who review entry so picky?

Is it because they think the ordinary Russians cannot think for themselves, cannot guess at what is going on, or won't act from a guess. Journalists by reporting facts legitimise action by ordinary people disgusted with wrong doing and unfair practices and maldistribution, and expose vulnerabilities in Russia such as excessive corruption and the widening denial of fair treatment under a judicial system that has too many males with too much testosterone.

Reporting in Russia may perhaps be likened to what has just happened in Egypt. Will facts that are available topple oligarchies that perpetuate weak legitimacies.

The snow Russia sits on is melting from underneath as the heat of anger within targets people in the know who like to put more people in the know.

Take time to meditate so that you can see with your mind what lies within and beyond.

From a scratch comes a verbal sketch or image sketch of the issue or subject. Other sites have other stuff that should really be of interest to the broad reader. I try to develop themes, but variety often comes before depth. ... more!
