How does the media create the artificial coffee house experience? What's an electronic substitute for coffee and tea near a bookstore? Is Starbucks a place to meet people and get energised in a social way, a rest from walking around a bookstore, a re-energizer, a place to sample treats with a good friend, a place to relax because of something about the atmosphere and the locality.
Have users put it together yet on the Internet or are they searching for that right combination of interest, relaxation, stimulus, social gathering, refreshment, and re-energising.
Is Starbucks a cultural phenomenon or what?
The three main things are:
1. Coffee or tea or something equally as addictive.
2. The potential for socialising and feeling at ease letting your hair ruffle in public.
3. The atmosphere of learning and/or artistic stimulation.
Now, I have noticed that some Starbucks, Second Cups, Books and Beans, Coffee Culures do this better than others.
To my mind, Facebook fails and as soon as another social site gains my attention I am out of Facebook. I used to think Yahoo had it, but then I was looking for a partner. Then came linked in when I was looking for a job opportunity. Now, I am looking at photos on Facebook and videos on YouTube, but they are really missing the edge. Can you think what that is and become the next social site to make it big. Check out the Chinese sites!
Woohs stream at http://woohs.blogspot.com taps into many streams of thought and action. There is no end to motion, just evolution and unrelenting change, seen or unseen. Energy is motion both in reality and calculation. Take time to rest even though all inside you is always moving. Your massive relative pause gives opportunity for other smaller streams to catch up. Take time to meditate so that you can see with your mind what lies within and beyond.
