Scene Last Night: De La Renta Tells Clinton to Run - Bloomberg

No its not because of an earthquake?

Communism no, fairness yes...

This post has been reworked slightly...

The process of privatization really aids no one but the wealthy. The conventional economists are so focused on the past way of thinking about patents that they forget about people. Technology takes over at the expense of people.

For the economist reader, it all has to do with Pareto and Piketty..

I would have started with the Pareto distribution of incomes that shows how the rich benefit from growth at the expense of the average. Piketty deserves a nobel prize for showing that economists are too narrow in their focus in a world in which information, particularly patents, in the hands of public institutions are grossly undervalued.

My own modelling suggests that a lognormal distribution representing changes in average incomes might be more easily understood by the lay person. Relate change in the rate of return on capital relative to the change in real growth through the lognormal distribution that reflects return on capital in a fast growing economy.

My point is that the faster the economy grows, the more apparent becomes the lognormal distribution viz-a-viz the normal distribution. We accelerate to Piketty unfair land because of more rapid growth. If we want a normal distribution of incomes, we need to slow down the rate of real growth which in turn reduces the rate of return on capital. Its all very edifying. Slow growth is good for the average person while fast or ever faster growth is bad.

How does one achieve a normal distribution of incomes instead of a lognormal one? The fast way is to get rid of patent protection. Its monopolies based on patents that produce faster and faster growth as well as higher and higher yields on capital. If the world adopted share ware technical progress this would reduce the rate of return on capital while allowing a faster rate of economic growth.

Its all very simple and based on Schumpeterian growth dynamics. Somehow we are led to the idea that we must protect the interests of the rich through patents. They do not auger well for income distribution.

The lie is that patents do good or help with innovation. Patent life can be shortened as an experiment say from 20 to 7 years.

Another step would be to raise interest real rates so that borrowing for acquisition would be reduced. So called rich companies accelerate their rate of return on capital through acquisitions.

Lastly, take on the banks and make them really efficient like the text book. That would greatly help in the distribution of unearned returns on capital.

Why do people say non-ionizing radiation is safe?  Clearly many people are under a false impression?

Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter

What are risks of non-ionizing radiation? It's not true to say there are none, but why don't we know more? It all has to do with how new knowledge is created and disseminated. Whether people like the new knowledge is critical. In Plato's story of the cave the messenger who brought new knowledge was killed because people could not handle truth? Socrates likewise was killed... Eventually people come to understand and accept new knowledge and that is what we would call REAL progress. At one time, people thought microcomputers were impossible. Do you?

Paul Krugman: Thomas Piketty’s got conservatives running scared - Salon.com

So, are you a Marxist?

If you think the modern economy is a greatly uneven game and that total wealth is distributed more to those who inherit it rather than earn it, you probably think its time for social policy to add more evenhandedness to the game and perhaps tax inherited wealth a bit heavier.

Does that make you a Marxist? Or say .... Who cares any more? What's past is past and the young will decide if they can, one way or another...

Maybe you think those that inherit wealth should be trained how to manage their windfall rather than waste it. A compulsory school for those who inherit a billion dollars, who are apt to waste it when they could do something productive with it other than financing personal armies and shooting poor people....

ROBERT BRYCE: PAUL KRUGMAN’S SOLAR DELUSIONS | RUTHFULLY YOURS

I guess we could all commit suicide to avoid the future that Ruthy projects. But don't because she is using a definition of solar energy that is too narrow. Why she chose an attack on Paul Krugman to air her view heaven only knows?

She is right when she says scale of production unit is critical, but so is replacement. We will replace 30 sizeable wind turbines with one in the future because it us possible and we will get yields up.

We will replace inefficient automobiles as scale economies make the electric vehicle the vehicle of choice.

Non-ionizing Radiation. How much do you really know about it and recent peer reviewed academic research findings.

Bell Aliant,
Canada: Save Humans from microwave radiation caused by your cell phone towers

More and more human beings are falling sick as a result of exposure to microwave radiation. Microwaves are scientlfically proven to have a definite effect on the human body hence their use in hospitals (bone fracture operations) and by various police federations worldwide (microwaves are used in crowd control). But longterm exposure to microwave radiation is extremely detrimental to human physical health (see www.bioinitiative.org, The Bioinitiative Report 2012).
One brave lady in Nova Scotia, Canada suffers severe physical symptoms as a result of living in proximity to a cell tower erected by Bell Aliant.
We need to support this brave woman. She is one of many who dare to speak out against the way human health is being savaged by microwave technologies. Support her in her mission to save human health.
Edna Pettipas, of Afton, Nova Scotia, is suing telecom giant Bell Aliant for loss and harm suffered due to radiation from a cell phone tower situated near to her house. A Nova Scotia court has set trial dates for April 2015. While so very many people have suffered similarly, the details of her particular case make it the best opportunity thus far in Canada to get on the legal record that the current regime governing public exposures to this radiation is not protective. Already one favourable judgement has been obtained, despite the delaying tactics of Bell Aliant, paving the way for this trial.

Edna Pettipas success could have important favourable repercussions in the public interest. It is an opportunity that should be grasped. The other side with their incomparable financial resources is likely to bring witnesses, from medical and physics perspectives, who will try to negate that harm and loss could befall Edna due to cell tower radiation. To meet this challenge, more witnesses are needed for Edna's side, in the public interest.

Edna's lawyer has shown bravery in taking the case on contingency, i.e. he does not get paid unless he wins.

We want to send a clear message to Bell Aliant,. Take down the tower that is threatening Edna's very existence. IMMEDIATELY! Present-day ICNIRP guidelines, which world governments have swallowed whole, are totally obsolete. They were devised years before wireless technology took control of modern society. Moreover, they are based on only 6 minutes exposure time. Who in the world is exposed to only 6 minutes nowadays? Bell is exposing Edna every minute of the day!!
Listen to Edna! Listen to the growing worldwide tidal wave of objections to the microwave technology which threatens our physical health on a minute-by-minute basis.
It took the world 90 years to wake up to the dangers of cigarette smoking. Bell Aliant cannot and must not wait that long to remove its cell phone tower. Ironically, many telecom organisations offer their own employees protection from the radiation generated by microwave technology - because they KNOW the stuff is lethal We must demand that Bell Aliant provide protection for non-employees as well! We want to save Edna, because ultimately we are helping to save ourselves. When Bell Aliant play around with microwaves, they are tampering with the natural frequencies of the human body and thereby jeopardising human health. We really do not have much time left. Many people are already totally disabled by this indescribable vulgarity that a cell phone tower is. Help us help Bell Aliant to see sense. Spread the word! Give us hope!

Is Cell Tower Radiation Dangerous?

Join me on this petition to reduce levels of non-ionizing radiation from cell towers.

The solid independent research suggests the opposite of what is conventional thinking. The cells of our bodies use microwaves to exchange information.

The trap set by Obama that Putin misreads. First to act stupidly loses by revealing unrealistic goals to soon. Putin needs to seriously rethink his chess moves. But, his character says he won't.

Obama will play the old lady with a handbag defence. Get Russia to overstep then teach the departed him a lesson his children will read in new world history books. Unfortunately, it may seem that America is asking for conflict to grow real democracies. So what is wrong with that. Putin thinks it's all about timing. No it's not its about historical traps and one is set for him and Russia right now.

Short sighted thinking by Putin is well off the mark of a great leader. Putin is clearly practicing to be an ass of the first kind.

Russians themselves will tire of Putin's machismo which resembles that of the defunct Mussolini.

Putin is so very much like Hitler it has the Germans nervous, but it's time they took note of the danger to German democracy.

The desire for real democracy in all of the Ukraine must not be blown out...
