Deb, my neighbour, sent me a letter that I posted on my blogsite.
Once democracies are lost to big commercial interests, people begin to think that it is very hard to get them back without violence!
Do we want bloodshed in our streets? I hope not! I am equally concerned about the way people are spontaneously fired up about now taking the matter in their own hands because of the shameful way they are being treated by abusive federal mandates that serve specific commercial interests. There is increasingly widespread talk by grandmothers, children and thoughtful people of using rifles, gasoline bombs and explosives; people who are ordinarily peaceful.

The following message from Deb Giberson reflects her feeling concerning the placement of a cellular base tower in the forested children's park and playground near her home. Why would Bell do that! Such is the ignorance of Bell Canada concerning the hazards of data transmission by wireless.
Canadians are shocked by the level of dictatorship that exists in their country mandataed by Harper's Conservative government. Dictatorships move very quickly to take away powers of people they profess to serve, but in fact are abusing their privileged position and stifling democracy.
I hate Harper's ductatorial approach to the national economy, and his nationalism, militarism and creeping fascism, which is similar to that of European Fascist governments prior to the Second World War. Wake up Canada you are living under a dictoratorial government that is rapidly taking away your rights and freedoms by the hour!

Bell Mobility just installed a new cell transmission tower in the children's park in my neighbourhood in Grand Bend, and will be turning it on any day now.
Bell needs to "meet the demand" for 4G t.v. technology.
Industry Canada granted Bell an exemption from the regular approval process because Bell is replacing an old "tower" with a new "tower" that meets Health Canada safety standards. They are, in fact, replacing an old tv reception antenna with a new industrial size cell transmission tower.
The exemption means they did not notify nearby residents, have public meetings, or obtain input from the community. In fact, because this is a federal program, they ignored county and municipal official plans, municipal protocol requesting towers be located 300m from the nearest residential property, conservation authority regulations, provincial notifications about endangered species on our lands, covenants/restrictions on land use in my neighbourhood. Our living environment is part of the largest remaining Oak Savana in Canada, like nearby Pinery Provincial Park, yet Bell was allowed to remove healthy trees in the middle of our forest area in order to install an industrial tower that does not belong in this area. The tower is only 50m to the homes adjacent to the site. It risks the health of the environment, the health of the neighbours, and has negatively impacted their properties (and property values). No one wants to look out their window at an industrial tower.
Industry Canada, Bell Canada/Mobility, Bell's Agent, and our Board of Directors are hiding behind outdated Health Canada Safety Code 6 (SC6) standards. SC6 does not take into account long termlow level exposure to new 4G wireless technology or today's volume of use. Health Canada will not rely on available global evidence so we must demand they invest in research and update our standards. Prove that we are safe. Give us the right to choose to live in a wireless-free community. With towers everywhere, where can electro-sensitive people live safely? Where can our children, with developing brains that are susceptible to this technology, play and go to school safely?
Today's incredible healthcare expenses, due to asbestos and tobacco related illnesses should make us take precaution, or the next wave of high health costs may be due to wireless technology.
A safer, faster and more reliable alternate method of wireless technology is fibre optics. A local company, Hay Communications, is nearly finished installing an underground fibre optics system in our neighbourhood. I am switching from my current tv service to Hay Communications as soon as it is available.
Neighbours fought this tower, and lost, because the majority of people were more concerned about a lawsuit with Bell Canada, than with the issues with the tower. We are now a split community.
SO PLEASE, demand that our government protect us. Health Canada must improve safety codes as wireless technology and volume of use have changed since the introduction of the iphone in 2007. Industry Canada must promote fibre optics wireless technology and provide the same subsidies it currently gives to big corporations to install cheap, dangerous, wireless tower networks.

As mentioned in my previous email, Wendy Hoy a grandmother and two other gandmothers helping her directly are making their way slowly to Ottawa.
As I see it, we all have metals in our blood and just like a microwave explodes those metals in your home microwave, the microwaves emitted from cell phones and towers interact with metal atoms in our bodies microscopically. Cell phone microwaves really do vibrate the metals inside your body. That is only the start of the many issues.
Now, consider that if you are flying on an ordinary jet from say Toronto to Ottawa and potentially have those microwaves emitted by cell phones trapped within the jet, you will be sensitized 'roasted' from within because of the metals in your blood. Melissa (below) is a pilot who is electro sensitive. Not surprising in my book! You don't see it or feel it, but sure as lightning hits the ground and kills people you can be killed by the cumulative effect of seemingly innocent microwave radiation over time! It certainly affects lab rats!
Think what is happening invisably within your own body when you fly? Why else do so many pilots end up with brain cancers. Port Franks - Frustrated that Bell Canada has more power than her local government, Wendy Hoy will set off for Ottawa on foot today, to raise awareness about electro-sensitivity, something that a large number of Canadians suffer from every day.
"Cell Tower emissions are a source of involuntary exposure to a type of electro-magnetic radiation referred to as microwave radiation. And not one single Canadian has a say in whether or not you live next to a tower," said Hoy, a founding member of the Lakeshore Coalition opposing cell towers in an environmentally sensitive area of Lake Huron.
"An airline pilot who is now electrosensitive and cannot fly anymore has just moved here," says Hoy. "Right after she got here, up go the cell towers. Where are these people supposed to live?" In Hoy's home of Port Franks, the local Council voted to investigate the feasibility of establishing a "white zone" which is an area with lower radiation levels. Residents who had a face to face meeting with Industry Canada last week were advised any attempts to have areas of lower radiation would be blocked by them.
Last year the World Health Organization re-classified the type of radiation emitted by sources such as cell towers, cell phones, and wireless internet as a possible carcinogen. Globally, medical organizations are urging precaution.
"We had a majority of Council Members vote against a cell tower in our neighbourhood. We even had half the town sign a petition against it. Despite overwhelming objection, Industry Canada has the final word in whether or not Bell Mobility can go ahead with plans to blanket Lambton Shores with cell towers. Bell has more control over our lives than we do," said Hoy as she laced up for her 800 km walk to Ottawa.

We are meeting at the Port Franks Conservation Area, which is next door to the Seven Winds Marina, at 8:45 am. Those being Port Franks, Grand Bend and now Ipperwash.If you are able to come please do!!!! She needs all the support we can get and so do the tower fighters here as well. Business pollutes and ordinary people get sick and their lives are crapped. The moral hazard from bad business decisions is born by the poor and ordinary folk. Look at cigarettes! Thank you for your reply. This is an extreme moral hazard situation where Bell Canada and other firms risk the health of customers and Canadian finances as was, until recently, the case with the Asbestos industry.

As a former member of economist and lecturing staff at the IMF, I am aware of extreme moral hazard risks well ahead of others!
Why take unnecessary risks when fiber optics is 65,000 times faster and infinitely more reliable. What we need is a federal commitment to a backbone fiber optics network across Canada linking all communities. It needs to be government funded like the nice roads you are paving because private industry wants the cheap stuff and the risky alternative. However, wireless risks an extreme moral hazard situation as the health costs of investment gone wrong will be carried by governments. Fiber optics is an opportunity for the federal government to lead the country towards unity!
Incidentally, Wendy Hoy, the artist is walking to Ottawa from Port Franks on Thursday to publicise this issue. I will be helping her!

Rogers and Bell choose to do their thing! If the government is assuming the cost of the risk, we have a fundamental problem. It's like insurance.
