		Peter Hull on Amber Case: We are all cyborgs now

		As far as I can see there is no reason to fear that children are losing their introspective capacity. I teach at a university which means I deal daily with the education of the first truly "internet raised" people, in the sense that they are the first generation in history to have grown up surrounded by mobile phones, Facebook, Twitter etc. I see no discernable difference in terms of character expression or self awareness between them and my own fellow students from my days at university. If anything, they are more socially aware and atuned to their place in the world by their constant access to information about it and, importantly, feedback from it. I think the development of things like blogs (50,000 per day) and individual webpages like Myspace show, if anything, that focus on our own interests and emotions is developing rather than receding. Most students I ask think it's important to turn their phones/laptops off from time to time just as much as I do."

		She has presented a "definition" of peace that is different than what we normally think of. Thinking of "peace" as the absence of war is one way to look at it. Thinking of peace as people having access to adequate food, water, medical care, education etc. gives the concept a different twist. Peace is the accumulation of individuals feeling secure in their physical being. Yes, there was talk of "taking action" but I think this was to illustrate the point that it takes doing things to achieve peace, that cumulative inner peace whose sum total is a more practical and workable definition than "the absence of war" which, has not been a very useful definition. This is where I see the "importance" of this talk. It seemed like a pretty significant "conceptual shift" that TED is acclaimed for presenting in a variety of fields. Good talk!"

In what future five year review of the SDR will the Yuan be added given China's economy size will surpass that of the USA

Will the IMF have to move it's headquarter to China? Appreciation of the yuan would appreciate the value of Chinese GDP and could make it the world's largest economy! But, when? Or, could the dollar and valuation of the US economy make a sudden nose dive as happened with other major currencies not backed by real growth. Paradox is that raising value of an exchange rate forces efficiency measures to stay in business which for China means more capital per worker, but what do you do with all the workers wanting jobs. You grow your economy! Problem for America is that the secret behind real economic growth may be discovered by a foreign power, and it ain't building armed forces or weapons.

L A Waddell writes in his book connecting the ancient British and Germanic People with Hittites:

We are only scratching the surface in our understanding of ancient connections between peoples and their common origins, as I shall show by an example below. We now value racial integration and the inter-mixing of peoples because we see it as beneficial even though not so long ago the neurotic / psychotic call for racial purity was enough to cause enormously destructive and irrational neurotic behavior. This neurosis still afflicts people such as the current leaders of Iran, unless they are pretending? In contrast, we should and can see a human, as a human, as a equivalent human with equivalent rights and responsibilities, and have respect and love no matter what the genetics tell us.

It is important that we show our support for all peoples and their progress and for racial integration and harmony, not division and suspicion. Some fears are rational but the racial one is demeaning to all of us.

L A Waddell writes in the 1920's before Hitler promulgates his hatred against Jewish peoples and non-Aryan peoples. Hitler's ideas came from his neuroses, which spawned hatred and violence against innocents.

I refer to Waddell's book proposing a connection between the ancient Brits with Hittites:

His name is followed by In-da-ra, that is the solar Indra or "Almighty," the principal deity of the Indo-Aryan Vedic scriptures, and as instanced in the verses cited in the heading, the especial god of the Barats or Brihats (or "Brits") and of their Panch or Phoenic-ian clan-and his image and title are represented on Ancient Briton monuments and coins. "

We can ask the question openly now because we are not afraid of mixing races and in fact it is found to be preferable and more beneficial generally to apartheid or separateness.
