Very dangerous waters to be sailing in! It seems likely that all the big issues between the press and politicians could be done independently of formalities. It's party stuff, slap on the back, whose your best friend these days, etc. It would be naive to think that awareness of anothers money does not buy influence... that autobiography or the speeches that gleen fortunes on retirement from political office. It's not a question of short term contrivances but long term investments in people and strategies for wealth arising from the printed and spoken word over a good stretch of time!

Raging Inequality May Cause Unrest and Violence | The Big Picture
A very perceptive commentary on American politics since the country was formed out of revolution. The two facts that should worry any community are it's inequality and it's widespread distribution of firearms. Revolutions occur after tipping points that push people to act. The big gamble is that they remain ignorant to the real forces that cause them grief!
