Very dangerous waters to be sailing in! It seems likely that all the big issues between the press and politicians could be done independently of formalities. It's party stuff, slap on the back, whose your best friend these days, etc. It would be naive to think that awareness of anothers money does not buy influence... that autobiography or the speeches that gleen fortunes on retirement from political office. It's not a question of short term contrivances but long term investments in people and strategies for wealth arising from the printed and spoken word over a good stretch of time!
