The investment in housing is no longer an engine of growth and never could be sustaining

That the lives of the baby boomers and their home-seeking marrying children should overlap in the past decade should come as no surprise.

That there now may well be too many houses and not enough households to fill them should come as a matter of the demographics that could easily suggest a long term slump in the housing industry in America.

Europe may be different.

What this means for the growth pundits in America and Britain is quite interesting.
